What can I say about Flynn? In his litter he was the real middle of the road puppy. Medium size, little compact kind of puppy that many people missed when they saw the litter. Most were drawn to his brother, Stan (Instant Success) since he was the biggest, blondest and had the most hair.

However, in the litter, Flynn was always the first one to greet, the first to volunteer for anything, and the first in anyone's lap and face. I LOVED his personality! It's that "put me in coach!" attitude. And that attitude has governed his way of living through all things.

Flynn is the most "try hard" dog I have ever known. He is daunted by nothing. He will try anything and if he fails, he will try it again. As a special, that outlook on life caused him to be dynamic in the ring as well as a tremendous challenge for his handlers. He loves to do anything with complete reckless abandon and total enthusiasm.

The perennial optimist, goofy, silly, no dignity (a boy thing) and curious about everything and everyone. Those words describe Flynn.

Flynn finished his championship with a group placement from the 6-9 puppy class, won the bred-by class at the National, and ultimately, Winners Dog at the Briards West Specialty in California.

His career as a special started by going to live with Davin McAteer and Larry Cornelius in Ocala, Florida. Flynn lived with Davin and Larry for his entire career of 2 1/2 years. He was conditioned and lived with their head assistant Heidi Spaeth, until she left to go out on her own, and then in her place was Karen Aurelius, Mandy Clevenger and Drew.

Flynn won the group on his second show with Davin running as fast as he could behind him, holding on to the lead for dear life. Breathlessly, after the group, Davin commented how he had never run that fast in his entire life or career showing dogs! Flynn's career was off to a "running" start. We never looked back.

He was the Number One Briard in All Systems in 1998 and 1999 and was Number One Group points in 2000, when he was only shown for 7 months.

Flynn was retired at the Atlantic States Briard Club Specialty weekend April, 2001. That weekend he won his 15th Best In Show and his 105th Group First. He also won the ASBC Specialty from the Veterans class which was his 7th specialty win. With that, he broke the all time Specialty record in the breed.

His career highlights are:

Five of Flynn's Best In Shows, were at dog shows with over 2,500 dogs. They were Chambersburg Kennel Club under Mr. Robert Hastings; Golden Valley Kennel Club under Mr. James Mitchell; Lorain County Kennel Club under Mrs. Margaret Renihan; Old Dominion Kennel Club under Mrs. Pat Hastings; and Chambersburg Kennel Club under Mr. Nathaniel Horn. Quite a record. We are very proud!

Flynn as sire has been very gratifying and exciting. He has produced 24 champions, and counting. His son was Winner's Dog at the National. He has a son who was Best Of Breed at the Canadian Briard Club National and is group winner. His daughter was BOS at the Harrisburg Specialty. He has another group winning son and a daughter who was Best in Sweepstakes at specialties twice, and Winners Bitch at the Briards West Specialty. Another son was Winner Dog at the Briards West Specialty and a daughter was Reserve Winners at the National.
